Cranberry Apple Pie Recipe

Fall brings ripe apples out of the orchard, and cranberries fresh from the bogs of New England. They are available at the same time, to blend into this great tasting pie.

Cranberry Apple Pie Ingredients:

  • Pastry for two 9" pie crusts

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice

  • 4 cups tart apples, peeled and sliced

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries

  • 2 Tablespoons butter or margarine

How to Make  Cranberry Apple Pie:
  1. Preheat oven to 425 ° F.
  2. Prepare pastry. In a mixing bowl, stir together sugar, flour and spice.

  3. Line one pasty in a pie late.

  4. Add alternate layers of apples, cranberries and sugar mixture.

  5. Dot with butter or margarine.

  6. Cover top of pie with second pie pastry.

  7. Flute crust along the edge of the pie.

  8. Make slits in top of pie crust to release steam as it cooks.

  9. Bake 40 to 45 minutes until the top pastry is a golden brown.

  10. Remove from oven and cool.

  11. Serve at room temperature, or slightly warm.
