When the strawberry season begins, it’s time to pull out your favorite strawberry recipes. Without a doubt, this strawberry pound cake recipe will become one of your annual favorites.
Did you know? Strawberries are the only fruit with seeds on the outside. And, each strawberry has approximately 200 seeds.
Cake Ingredients:
1 package (18 1/4 oz.) white cake mix
1 cup crushed fresh strawberries
3-ounce package strawberry-flavored Jell-O
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs, room temperature
Glaze Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3 1/2 cups confectioner’s sugar
1/4 cup mashed strawberries
Pre-heat oven to 325 ° F.
Combine cake ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.
Pour batter into a well-greased and flowered tube pan.
Bake for 45-55 minutes, until done. Test with a toothpick for doneness.
Remove from oven and place cake on a cooling rack for 10 minutes.
Place the cake on a serving plate.
In a mixing bowl, combine glaze ingredients. Mix until smooth.
Drizzle glaze over the cake.
