Serves: 6-8
Did You Know? Every June at the Georgia Peach Festival, the world record peach cobbler is made. It measures 11 feet by 5 feet and 8 inches deep.
Filling Ingredients:
3 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter cut into small pieces
Crust Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup heavy cream
Filling Preparation Directions:
Place sliced peaches into a 1 1/2 quart baking dish.
Sprinkle cup sugar onto peaches.
Dot with butter.
Crust Preparation Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 375 ° F.
Mix together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
Cut in butter.
Slowly stir in heavy cream until the dough is manageable.
Roll dough onto a floured surface.
Place dough over peaches.
Bake for 35 minutes, until the top crust is a golden brown.
Serving Tip: Try vanilla or peach ice cream on top.
