1/4 cup margarine
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons milk
3/4 cup chopped cranberries
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons grated orange peel
Excess moisture is the main reason berries of all kinds go bad quickly. At the grocery store, always check for freshness. Flip over the container the berries are in. If they don’t stick to the bottom of the container, they are fresh and will last longer.
