We believe this recipe is something to toot about! This Boston Baked Beans recipe is popular just about everywhere. Summer picnics are not complete without it.
Yield: 6 servings

1 cups dry navy beans
6 cups water
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons chopped onions
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 cup dark molasses
six to eight slices of bacon
Boil beans in water for 2 minutes.
Soak beans overnight in water.
Remove from refrigerator.
Add salt and simmer until beans are tender about 1 1/2 hours.
Drain beans, save 1/2 cup liquid.
Place beans in a 3-quart casserole dish.
In a separate bowl, combine and mix together cooking liquid and all remaining ingredients, except bacon.
Pour the mixture over the beans.
Add strips of bacon on top of beans.
Bake uncovered at 350° F for one hour, or until lightly browned.
Serve hot.
Wipe down range hoods with vegetable oil.
Range hoods collect all kinds of grease. Then, dust attaches itself to the grease making an ugly mess. Ad a couple of drops of vegetable oil on a paper towel or rag. Then, wipe the range hood. The grime comes off easily without scrubbing that can scratch the hood.
