How to Make Apple Cake Ingredients:

  • 1/4 pound of butter or margarine

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs, separated

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2/3 cups milk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Topping Ingredients:

  • 3-4 apples, peeled and sliced into eighths
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Directions How to Make Apple Cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 ° F.
  2. First, cream butter and sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Next, add well-beaten egg yolks.
  4. Sift together dry ingredients. Then add the mixture to the batter along with the milk.
  5. Beat until smooth.
  6. Fold in well-beaten egg whites and vanilla.
  7. Pour batter into a greased can-floured cake pan.
  8. To make the topping, mix together sliced apples, cinnamon, and sugar.
  9. Arrange apples attractively on top of the batter.
  10. Bake in the oven for 45 – 50 minutes.
  11. Use a toothpick to test for doneness
