Peach Cobbler Recipe

Description: If peaches have ripened on your peach trees, or are now available at your local market, it's time to try this sweet and delicious recipe.

Serves: 6-8

Filling Ingredients:

  • 3 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup butter cut into small pieces

Crust Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 Tablespoon sugar

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Filling Preparation  Directions:

  1. Place sliced peaches into a 1 1/2 quart baking dish.

  2. Sprinkle cup sugar onto peaches.

  3. Dot with butter.

Crust Preparation  Directions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 375 ° F.

  2. Mix together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.

  3. Cut in butter.

  4. Slowly stir in heavy cream until dough is manageable.

  5. Roll dough onto a floured surface.

  6. Place dough over peaches.

  7. Bake for 35 minutes, until top crust is a golden brown.

Serving Tip: Try vanilla or peach ice cream on top.
