Boston Baked Beans Recipe Description

Boston Baked Beans Recipe Ingredients

1 cups dry navy beans

6 cups water

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons chopped onions

1 teaspoon dry mustard

1/2 cup dark molasses

six to eight slices of bacon

Recipe Directions

  1. Boil beans in water for 2 minutes.

  2. Soak beans overnight in water.

  3. Remove from refrigerator.

  4. Add salt and simmer until beans are tender about 1 1/2 hours.

  5. Drain beans, save 1/2 cup liquid.

  6. Place beans in a 3-quart casserole dish.

  7. In a separate bowl, combine and mix together cooking liquid and all remaining ingredients, except bacon.

  8. Pour the mixture over the beans.

  9. Add strips of bacon on top of beans.

  10. Bake uncovered at 350° F for one hour, or until lightly browned.

  11. Serve hot.
