Apple Oatmeal Cookies Recipe
Description: This recipe produces delicious, soft and chewy cookies.
Set them out on a serving tray and watch them disappear.
Yield: 3 dozen cookies
1 1/2 cups quick cooking rolled oats
3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup baking apple, peeled and finely chopped
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cups vegetable oil
1/2 cup milk
How to Make Apple Oatmeal Cookies:
In deep fryer, heat oil to 375 degrees.
In a bowl, combine dry ingredients.
Stir to combine.
Stir in raisins and apples.
In a large bowl, combine egg, honey, vegetable oil, and milk.
Stir in dry ingredients, mixing until it forms a smooth batter.
Use a teaspoon to drop dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
Leave a 2 inch space between cookies.
With clean hands, press down on cookies dough to form a 1 1/2 inch diameter
Bake in oven for 10-12 minutes. Check the bottom of the cookies a little
before this, to assure they are not becoming overdone on the bottom.
Remove from oven and transfer cookies to a cooling rack.
