Rose Hip Jam Recipe
Everyone has told you that Rose Hips are edible. Now, here is proof .
Rose Hip jam has a interesting taste, and is enjoyed by most people who are
willing to try it.....are you?
The problem to making this jam, is most of us have just a few rose bushes.
You need several to get enough rose hips to make this recipe.
Rose Hip Jam Ingredients:
1 pound rose hips
1 cup water
1 pound sugar
Rose Hip Jam Directions:
:Harvest one pound of rose hips after the first hard frost.
Place rose hips into a pot with one cup of water.
Simmer the rose hips until soft.
Strain the mixture through a food mill, to remove seeds and fibers.
Return the liquid to the pot.
Add an equal amount of sugar, by weight.
Cook at a slow boil, until the jam begins to set, about 30 minutes.
Pour jam into sterilized canning jars and seal.
