Peas and Onions in Lemon Butter Recipe

Description: Peas go good with almost anything. They taste especially great, if picked fresh from your garden.


  • 2 cups a fresh picked peas (or, 2 -10z. packages)

  • 4 medium sized onions, peeled and sliced

  • 3 Tablespoons butter or margarine

  • 1/2 cup chopped onions

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 2 teaspoons sugar

  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1/4 cup water

Preparation  Directions:

  • Cook peas in boiling water until tender.

  • In a separate pan, cook sliced onions until tender.

  • Remove from heat, and drain both.

  • In a saucepan, melt butter.

  • Add chopped onions, cook for 5 minutes on low heat.

  • Stir in remaining ingredients, and heat thoroughly.

  • Place peas and onions into a large bowl.

  • Pour in sauce, and toss well to mix.

  • Serve hot.
