Cream of Pumpkin Soup Recipe Ingredients

1 pound of pumpkin flesh

2 cups milk

1 onion, finely diced

1 Tablespoon vegetable oil

1 Tablespoon flour

1 cup water

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions on How to Make Cream Pumpkin Soup

  1. Steam pumpkin for 20 minutes, until soft.
  2. Remove the skin.
  3. Push the pulp through a sieve.
  4. In a frying pan, heat oil and sauté diced onion.
  5. Stir in flour and add water.
  6. Stir in pumpkin pulp, then the milk.
  7. Add salt and pepper.
  8. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  9. For a smooth soup, pour/push through a sieve again.
  10. Serve hot.
