Cornbread Recipe Ingredients

1 cup yellow cornmeal

1 cup flour

1/3 cup sugar

4 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk, whole or 2%

1 egg, beaten

1/4 cup vegetable oil

How to Make Cornbread Recipe Directions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 400 ° F.

  2. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

  3. In a second bowl, combine milk, egg, and vegetable oil. Stir together.

  4. Add the liquid mix to the dry ingredients. Stir together just enough to mix.

  5. Pour batter into a greased 8″ X 8″ baking pan.

  6. Bake for approximately 25 minutes or the top is slightly browned.

  7. Serve warm or cool.
