Berry Pie Recipe Description

This Berry Pie Recipe with almond crumb crust sounds absolutely delicious. And, it is! You can use any fresh berries with this almond crumb crust and topping recipe. So, head out to your garden and pick some blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries. Then, start baking!

Berry Pie Recipe Ingredients

For Crumb Crust and Topping:

  • 1 cup almonds
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/14 cups (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine

For Pie Filling:

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 pints fresh berries (blueberry, raspberry, strawberry)

Crust/Topping Preparation Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Spread almonds out in a baking pan.
  3. Roast for about 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and turn onto a towel to cool.
  5. Grind nuts in a food processor until finely ground, about 10 seconds.
  6. In a large bowl, mix together ground almonds, flour and sugar.
  7. Cut butter or margarine into the mixture until it is crumbly.

Berry Pie Preparation Directions

  1. preheat oven to 450 °
  2. Take 1/2 half of the crumb mixture and press evenly into a 9-inch pie pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl, mix together sugar and cornstarch.
  4. Gently fold in berries.
  5. Pour the berry filling mixture into the crust, spread out evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the other half of the crumb topping mixture over the top of the pie.
  7. Bake 30 minutes, until the top is a golden brown, and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and place on a cooling rack for 10 minutes.
  9. Serve warm.
