Once you try this Asparagus casserole recipe, you will make this dish on a regular basis to feed your family. It makes a great “dish to pass” at events and will go quickly.

3 cups Asparagus, cooked
4 Tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
2 Tablespoons flour
2 cups milk
1/2 cup grated American cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cups bread crumbs
Pre-heat oven to 325° F.
Cook asparagus in boiling water for just 5 minutes.
Drain and place asparagus in a casserole dish.
In a saucepan, melt butter or margarine.
Add milk.
Blend in flour and salt, and stir until thickened.
Remove from heat, and stir in cheese.
Pour sauce over asparagus.
Sprinkle bread crumbs on top.
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
Serve hot.
Don’t buy expensive brushes to clean your oven rack. Rather, clean your oven racks with your toothbrush. Simply tie two old toothbrushes together with the bristles facing each other. Then, get to work.
