Serves: 6
Did You Know? Asparagus is a member of the Lily family.
24 fresh Asparagus Spears
6 Thick slices of Bacon
2-3 Tablespoons grated Cheddar Cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste
Boil or steam Asparagus until soft.
Fry bacon until a light brown. Let bacon drain on paper towels.
Separate Asparagus into 6 portions.
Wrap each portion with the bacon.
Place onto a greased cookie sheet.
Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese.
Broil in the oven until cheese is melted and lightly browned.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve hot
Recipe Variation: Instead of broiling it in the oven, put it on the grill. Just be careful. The grease dripping into the grill can cause flare-ups.
Wipe down range hoods with vegetable oil.
Range hoods collect all kinds of grease. Then, dust attaches itself to the grease making an ugly mess. Ad a couple of drops of vegetable oil on a paper towel or rag. Then, wipe the range hood. The grime comes off easily without scrubbing that can scratch the hood.
