Did you know that kids and gardening are a great combination? Youth of today, are a lot different than their parents and grandparents. But like you, children and teens still find and appreciate the reward in watching something they planted grow into a beautiful flower or a productive vegetable plant.
A great way to introduce your children to the hobby is to give them an indoor houseplant. Teach them how to care for the plant. Then, let them let them take over its care. In addition to introducing them to the hobby of gardening, they learn responsibility.
If your child expresses interest in gardening, give them a small area in your vegetable garden where they can grow anything they want. Or, if they prefer flowers, let them plant and care for a small flowerbed.
