And, they might be growing in your yard or flowerbed right now. If you have children or pets, it is important to realize that not all of those beautiful flowers are harmless. Here is a partial list of poisonous flowers that you may find in your flower beds.
Caladium – All parts of the plant are poisonous. Toxic, if eaten in large quantities. Skin irritation, pain in the mouth.
Castor Beans – Used to make deadly Ricin. Most seed companies no longer sell this seed.
Elephant Ears – Poisonous to children and pets.
Giant Hogweed – All parts. Extremely dangerous. Originally, imported to grow as an ornamental.
Larkspur – Poisonous to animals, notably cattle.
Lupine – Some are poisonous, some are edible.
Poinsettia – The leaves are poisonous. Keep it away from children and pets.
Tansy – Poisonous in large quantities.
