Tree sap on outdoor lawn furniture, deck railings, and vinyl siding can create an ugly, sticky mess. The most important tip is to clean it off as soon as you see it.
When you clean it in the first few days, it is easily removed with common household cleaners like Windex, 409, Simple Green, and others. After the sap begins to harden, you need something stronger like Goo Gone. In the toughest of cases, you may need to use a power pressure washer. And, it takes a whole lot more elbow grease.
Importantly, make sure the chemical you choose to use will not harm the object you are cleaning. Test it on a small area that is not readily visible before using it on more visible areas.
