American or cheddar cheese, grated

bacon, crisply cooked, crumbled

sour cream

chives

Note: Don’t use artificial bacon bits. It just doesn’t taste right.

Recipe Directions

  1. Bake potatoes in the oven at 350 ° F until done.

  2. Remove potatoes from the oven, cut lengthwise, and scoop out the potato, leaving a little in the shell.

  3. Add a thick layer of cheese.

  4. Top it off with crumbled bacon pieces.

  5. Cook for a few minutes under the broiler, until the cheese has thoroughly melted.

  6. Remove from oven and serve hot with sour cream, fresh chives, and fresh parsley flakes on the side.

Tip: You can also use the microwave to melt the cheese. But, it is better under the broiler.
