Summer grillin’ time allows us to grill some of our fresh-grown veggies. That smoky taste really adds flavor to this grilled green beans and mushrooms recipe.
Serves: 6
Did You Know? In Nicaragua, newlyweds are given a bowl of beans for good luck.
3-4 cups green beans, cleaned, cut into 2″ pieces.
4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 small onion or 1 shallot, sliced
salt and pepper to taste
Place two sheets of aluminum foil on top of each other for double thickness.
Place beans onto the aluminum foil.
Add mushrooms and onions.
Top with butter or margarine, salt, and pepper.
Fold and seal aluminum foil
Grill on medium heat for about 20 minutes, turning 2 or 3 times.
Open the top of the foil to allow a little smoke to enter as you grill another 10 minutes, or until beans are tender.
Serve hot.
