Dutch Spinach Recipe

Description: This easy to make recipe will be a definite addition to your recipe collection.

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices bacon

  • 3 cups chopped fresh spinach

  • 3 Tablespoons flour

  • 1 1/2 cups water

  • 2 Tablespoons sugar

  • 1 Tablespoon vinegar

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • /18 teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 hard boiled eggs

Preparation  Directions:

  • Fry bacon until crisp.

  • Keep drippings in the pan.

  • Chop bacon coarsely.

  • Toss bacon and spinach in a salad bowl.

  • Blend flour and bacon drippings.

  • Add water, sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper.

  • Cook on low heat until thick, stirring constantly.

  • Allow to cool slightly.

  • Pour mixture over spinach.

  • Coarsely chop hard boiled eggs and sprinkle over the spinach.
