Asparagus with Chive Sauce Veggies Recipe

Description:  Sour cream and chives goes very well with asparagus. It tastes best when the asparagus and chives come directly from your garden. There are only a few steps, so it is quick to make.


  • 1 to 1/12 pounds fresh asparagus

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1 - 3 ounce package of cream cheese

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chives, chopped

Preparation Directions:

  1. Put asparagus and water into a pot.

  2. Cook asparagus until tender, then drain.

  3. To make the chive sauce, mix cream cheese, milk and chives together.

  4. Heat chive sauce slowly on the stovetop or in the microwave, stirring occasionally until warm.

  5. Place asparagus on a serving dish and pour chive sauce over it.

Tip: Try the chive sauce over other cooked vegetables, like broccoli or cauliflower.
