Dishware made from real pumpkins! Why not!? It’s a novel and unique way to serve food and snacks. A real pumpkin makes great, disposable, organic serving bowls and dishes. After use, just toss it, and any leftovers inside, into your composter, or onto the compost pile. You can make all kinds of pumpkin dishes.
Pumpkin bowls and pumpkin plates are both fun to make and fun to use. Just wait until you see the smiling faces of family and guests. Serving dishes and plates, quickly and easily. The shape is all a matter of how you cut the pumpkin. Use your imagination.
For bowls and dishes, select a healthy, unblemished pumpkin, of the size you want to use.
Next, cut off the lid, and scrape out the insides.
You now have a bowl, complete with a lid for a cover. For a serving dish, cut the pumpkin horizontally, at the height you want for the dish. For a plate, cut the pumpkin horizontally, just a couple of inches from the bottom.

To make pumpkin plates, follow any of the pumpkin bowl procedures above. The only real difference is the shape of the pumpkin dish is flat.
