Pumpkin Apple Bread Recipe
Description: Pumpkins and apples are popular fruits, and symbols
of Fall. But, don't limit yourself to just making Pumpkin Apple Bread in
the fall only. It tastes great at any time of the year.
Yield: 2 loaves
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 cups sugar
1 - 15 oz. can pumpkin (not pie filling)
1 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup water
2 cups apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
How to Make Pumpkin Apple Bread:
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour two bread loaf pans.
In a bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Mix together pumpkin and sugar.
Add eggs, vegetable oil, and water, mixing together well.
Add and mix in dry ingredients.
Fold in chopped apples.
Pour dough into two bread pans.
Bake in the pre-heated oven for 50 to 60 minutes.
Check to see if bread is done. Insert a toothpick or knife into the center
of the bread. If it comes out clean, it is done. Otherwise, bake for an
additional 5 minutes and re-test.
Remove the bread from the oven and let set for ten minutes.
Remove the bread from the pan, and place on a wire rack to cool.
