Asparagus Casserole Recipe

Description:  Once you try Asparagus casserole, you will use this dish on a regular bass to feed your family. It makes a great "dish to pass" at events, and will go quickly.


Ingredients:

  • 3 cups Asparagus, cooked

  • 4 Tablespoons butter or margarine, melted

  • 2 Tablespoons flour

  • 2 cups milk

  • 1/2 cup grated American cheese

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 cups bread crumbs


Preparation Directions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees.

  2. Cook asparagus in boiling water for just 5 minutes.

  3. Drain and place asparagus in a casserole dish.

  4. In a saucepan, melt butter or margarine.

  5. Add milk.

  6. Blend in flour and salt, and stir until thickened.

  7. Remove from heat, and stir in cheese.

  8. Pour sauce over asparagus.

  9. Sprinkle bread crumbs on top.

  10. Bake in oven for 30 minutes.

  11. Serve hot.
