TheWorld's Largest Flower

Rafflesia is the world's biggest flower. Native to the rainforests of Sumatra and Borneo in Indonesia, the flower can measure up to three feet across, and weigh 15 pounds!

Rafflesia is a parasitic plant, attaching itself to other plants.  In bloom, Rafflesia emits an offensive odor, smelling like rotted meat. The plant has no leaves stem or roots. Nutrient absorbing "threads" rob water and nutrients from the host plant.
