Fresh Basil Pesto Sauce Recipe
Description: Use your homegrown basil to make a fresh pesto sauce.
Basil Pesto is good on chicken, fish and poultry. You can also put it into
your homemade pasta sauce. Or, spread in on a fresh piece of Italian bread.
Serves: Makes about 1 cup
Ingredients:

2 cups fresh basil leaves
-
2 Garlic Cloves
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
2 Tablespoons grated Romano cheese
-
1/4 cup Pine Nuts or Walnuts
-
1/2 cup olive oil
-
Salt and ground Black Pepper to taste
How to Make Basil Pesto Sauce:

Combine the basil, garlic, cheeses and nuts in a blender.

Process to chip and mix ingredients.

With the machine running on the slowest speed, slowly add the olive oil.

Season to taste with salt and ground black pepper.
-
Continue processing to the desired consistency.

Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
Note: Leftover Basil Pesto Sauce can be frozen.
